That’s right folks! March is here, which means every Friday there will be a new flick at the cinema for your enjoyment. From aging mutants to a really, really bad day at the office, your local theater is sure to be jam-packed with eager audiences wanting to see absolute mayhem. The following list is our most anticipated films of the month here at Geek Prime.
Logan – March 3
Hugh Jackman is releasing his claws for one final ride as the grief-stricken Wolverine. Set in the year 2029, Logan is now living in a world where mutants are all but extinct and is the caretaker of a ninety-year-old Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart). When a young mutant with abilities similar to his own arrives, the world-weary former X-Man must unleash the beast in order to protect her.
Kong: Skull Island – March 10
The king of Skull Island returns to theaters, not smashing airplanes in Manhattan, but rather in an all-out battle for dominance against the island’s deadlier inhabitants. Featuring a cast that includes Tom Hiddleston, John Goodman, John C. Reilly, and Samuel L. Jackson, the film is the second installment in Legendary’s MonsterVerse, following 2014’s Godzilla. Ultimately, Skull Island will lead us to a showdown between Godzilla and Kong in 2020.
Beauty and the Beast – March 17
Disney has reached back into the vault for another live-action adaptation of their incredible catalog, following their efforts in Maleficent, Cinderella, and The Jungle Book, for a new version of Belle and the Beast. Imprisoned by a beastly prince, a young woman begins to fall in love with her captor after gaining an understanding of his soul just as a local hunter attempts to kill the beast. Emma Watson and Dan Stevens portray the titular characters, respectively, and are joined by Luke Evans as Gaston and Kevin Kline as Belle’s father Maurice.
The Belko Experiment – March 17
Thought you had a bad day at the office? Try working for the Belko Corporation. In this horror film, written and produced by James Gunn, employees of an American company (located in Colombia) are subjected to a social experiment that finds everyone in the building killing for their own survival. John Gallagher, Jr., Tony Goldwyn, Melonie Diaz, Michael Rooker, and John C. McGinley star.
Power Rangers – March 24
It’s Morphin time, dammit! Chosen by destiny, five teenagers must save the world from aliens as the new additions in an ancient lineup of warriors known as the Power Rangers.
